There are four ways to get Iscatape. First, as most of our listeners do, you can receive a USB memory stick in the post. Just get in touch and we’ll do the rest.

Second, you can access Iscatape by using a smart speaker such as Alexa- Setting up the skill on your Alexa is quite straightforward, simply say “Alexa enable Talking Newspapers.” If you are using the Alexa App, simply : Open App-> More-> Skills and Games->Search-> “Talking Newspapers”-> Enable Once the skill is enabled, you can play Iscatape by saying “Alexa, ask Talking Newspapers to play Iscatape. Sometimes Alexa finds it easier to understand using two words-“Isca, Tape” even calling it “Isca, Tarpey” but it should get better over time! Whilst it is playing you can say “Alexa, next track/previous track/pause/play/stop/cancel” to navigate through the programme.

Third, because the British Wireless for the Blind have stopped hosting Talking Newspapers, we are lucky that Iscatape is now available Via the Talking news Federation. If you use the link below then it will help you to get this via an app or smart speaker.

Fourth, On the telephone. Just ring 01392 982 810 and follow the instructions. This is a magnificent new service from the Talking News Federation and is really easy to use.

Is it really free? Yes! We are a registered charity (number 277271). We have been lucky enough to have had bequests and donations which means we do not need to charge anything for this service.

Can I stop getting the programme? Yes, of course. If, for whatever reason, someone no longer wants to receive Iscatape, then just let us know and we will take you off the mailing list. We only use anyone’s personal information, such as address or phone number, for the talking newspaper and will never give it to anyone else for any other purpose. We will never ring you up asking for money or confidential information or to sell you anything.
